Our stay at "The Haunted Hotel" during Mardi Gras week was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, the exceptional staff made us feel right at home. Their welcoming and helpful demeanor truly enhanced our experience, and Christina, in particular, stood out as super helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from providing insightful tips for activities and restaurants to being readily available whenever we had a question or request. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. Nestled between the vibrant Bourbon Street and the lively Frenchman Street, it struck the perfect balance, allowing us easy access to the best bars and attractions without being overwhelmed by the crowds. We stayed in room B5 in the lower courtyard, which was not only comfortable but also conveniently located for enjoying the courtyard during the hot weather. The hotel's ambiance perfectly complemented the spirit of New Orleans. Embracing the history of the New Orleans Axeman, the atmosphere was both intriguing and welcoming. Despite being in the midst of Mardi Gras festivities, the street itself remained quiet and safe, providing a peaceful retreat when needed. Our room exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and amenities. The spacious bathroom with twin sinks was a nice touch, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We appreciated the fridge for keeping our drinks cold, the coffee machine for our morning pick-me-up, and the large TV for unwinding after a day of exploring. The highlight for us was the expansive courtyard, which offered a cool respite from the New Orleans heat. It would undoubtedly be the perfect spot for pre-drinks with a larger group. Thanks so much! - Gavin & Megan

The staff are absolutely amazing. Due to a booking issue, we thought that we were out of luck in regards to needing two beds. The staff went above and beyond. We were first pleasantly surprised at their response time and friendly, welcoming personalities. These ladies were always smiling! Then, they stepped up in preparing the room for an extra bed. The booking issue was the booking sites fault and not theirs, but they still took it on and fixed it! The entire time we felt as though they genuinely cared about not only our time at the hotel but also throughout the whole city. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Location, location, location. We were in walking distance of everything within the French quarter. As three young people looking to wobble back to our room, it was very easy to make it back safely. We will be back!

This is freaking New Orleans!!!! Everything about my stay seemed like a genuine New Orleans experience. From the first walk through a little side alley, until you get to the expansive inner garden, it was really magical. Our host, Herb, was an excellent tour guide for the property, and even took us up to the “Axeman’s “ room and showed us around there. He was very cool, and I give this place a few extra stars on his hospitality alone. As far as the rooms, they were clean and very nice. It’s an old building, with old building drawbacks, but for my money, if I am going to stay in downtown New Orleans this is the hotel I will be staying at from now on. I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown, and this was literally $100 cheaper, and way more classy. This place makes you feel like people checking in, and not a commodity.

It was amazing, we had a great room with balcony overlooking the street so could watch the tour guides! Loved it… the history of the hotel Is so interesting and the decorated courtyard for Halloween was brilliant…. the two Christina’s on Reception were just amazing, so friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to assist - and give great hugs!!

The property is beautiful. I love the patio area with the fire pits. The option to enjoy the outdoors and relax was great. Our room had unbelievable graffiti style paint that was very cool.
